OTHER DESTINATIONS

The United Kingdom and Ireland remain the most popular parts of the world for overseas golf tourism but in recent years there has been growing interest in other parts of the world too. France, Holland, Spain and Portugal are all popular in Europe and have some fine courses to experience. The further south you go, the better the weather typically is too!

Australia and New Zealand are also proving popular as the world opens up post-Covid. We can organise bespoke tours to the great Antipodean courses like Royal Melbourne and Barnbougle Dunes.

The team at Outpost Overseas have experience playing all across the world. Half of the courses in Golf Magazine’s World Top 100 lie outside the USA and we’ve played them all. Please get in touch to organise your perfect golf trip.

  • FRANCE

    FRANCE

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world - and it has golf courses to match. Morfontaine, Fontainebleau and Chantilly are all peaceful havens of pure golf bliss!

Head to the south of France and the combination of great weather, sublime food and pleasant golf can make an irresistible combination.

  • SPAIN

The south of Spain gets the benefit of more than 300 days of sun a year. Valderrama has hosted the Ryder Cup and Spanish Open many times. Sotogrande is another European Tour venue and Finca Cortesin will host the 2023 Solheim Cup.

Head further north and El Saler, next to beautiful Valencia, may be the best course in the country.

  • PORTUGAL

The area around Lisbon has some really excellent golf - like Troia to the south and West Cliffs to the north. You could easily spend a week here.

The Algarve on the south coast has lots of good resort golf and some of the best beaches in Europe.

  • THE NETHERLANDS

The exquisite Utrecht de Pan is a Harry Colt creation in one of the most peaceful and serene settings anywhere in the world. It holds its own alongside the very best Surrey heathland courses. Royal Hague, Kennemer and Noordwijske give a more linksy challenge.

Getting around the country is easy and Amsterdam makes for a great base for a trip.

  • AUSTRALIA

Anyone who loves great golf architecture should try to make a pilgrimage to Australia at least once. Melbourne is the obvious place to start - Kingston Heath and Royal Melbourne lead the way, but the depth is incredible.

Tasmania has two courses in the World top 100 and New South Wales in Sydney is another great course. One visit may not be enough!

  • SOUTH AFRICA

    SOUTH AFRICA

A visit to South Africa can be about far more than just golf. We can organise a safari and breathtaking sight-seeing trips.

But the golf is of a very high quality too, with the likes of St Francis Links and the Links at Fancourt on the Garden Route and Sun City and Leopard’s Creek near to Kruger Park.
